Central Saint Martins College, now based in Kings Cross, runs a number of short courses for jewellers - covering both creative and the business aspects of the jewellery business. How to Build a Jewellery Business:

This is an on-line course for anyone who wants to start a jewellery business - whether they want to be a designer, a maker, wholesaler or retailer - and is for those who are starting a new business venture.  We will cover all aspects of running a business, including a broad introduction to the jewellery trade, purchasing the raw materials, commissioning a workshop, marketing the finished product, costing the job and keeping control of the finances.  This is a live, on-line evening course, running from 1st May to 19th June 2014, from 6.30 to 8pm.

The Jewellery Business Explained

A two day week-end introduction to the jewellery industry for anyone contemplating a change of  career or for a student who is interested in learning more about the different aspects of the industry.  This course takes place in The Granary at Kings Cross.

How to Build a Jewellery Business 

This is an evening course in 8 parts, held on-site at Central St. Martins from January 2015.  It focusses on the process of setting  up and managing a jewellery business and covers all aspects from building the collection to basic gemmology, costing a job and an introduction to the law.
